Questions and Answers
If you have a question that is not already answered below, please use the enquiry form on the Enquiries page and we will do our best to answer your questions!

Shrink Wrappers

Q: How fast will the machine pack our product?
A: Machine speed is dependant on many factors such as pack type and size, product shape and stability, film thickness and various other factors, the machine information tables give a general estimate however for an accurate assessment we would need specific details of you application.

Q: What type of film do the machines use?
A: Generally the equipment uses standard polyethylene shrink film, it is widely available and highly cost effective.

Q: What film thickness should we use?
A: Film gauge is dependant upon factors such as pack size, weight and product shape. The most common film gauges used are between 30 and 80 microns although other gauges can be accommodated. We would be happy to advise you in this area.

Q: What is the delivery time for a system?
A: Standard systems can be assembled in as little as 3 - 4 weeks, however more complex systems can take longer.

Q: What warranty is offered with the equipment?
A: Packmatic equipment comes with a 12 month parts and labour warranty, details will be full specified in our quotation.

Bag Sealers

Q: What does impulse sealing mean?
A: Heating of the sealing strip only occurs when the actual seal takes place. Therefore the sealing area is not heated when the machine is not being used.

Q: What types of plastic can be sealed?
A: Impulse sealers are designed primarily for use on plastic (polyethylene) bags or polypropylene.

Q: What's the best tip for a good seal?
A: It is important not to set the sealing time too high, also ensure that sufficient cooling time is allowed by keeping the jaws together for 1 - 2 seconds after the sealing is completed.

Q: What warranty is offered with your sealers?
A: Packmatic offer a six-month parts and labour warranty on all our sealing equipment.
